When not all the books in the series are the same height.

When books change covers with editions so they don’t all match unless you buy the series in one go.

When some books are hardcover and some are softcover and it doesn’t match but you can’t find another copy.

When some covers are different in certain countries so you don’t get the main one which also happens to look better than all the other varieties.

Basically just books.

God damn them.

Can we talk about how not okay it is that everyone just blew off that females can be sex offenders on Glee’s “Lights Out” episode? Just because an older girl is a stereotypical teen boy fantasy, does NOT make it okay to have it actually happen in a “oh, hey, surprise, I’m gonna fondle you now”, non-consensual way. The worst part is that the only adult in the room, who should know better, does absolutely nothing to correct the boys! I’m just so upset.

Drinks and Dogs

So, last night was my first trip to a bar, ever. I know it’s been almost a year since I have been legally able to go to a bar, but I hardly ever go out, and I am NOT a fan of drinking outside my house. I want to be able to go to sleep whenever I feel like it, and I refuse to drive if I’ve had, like, anything to drink (yay for being a lightweight!) so I have this fear of being left somewhere by my DD or having my DD get drunk and not be safe to drive my ass home. I also have a fear that I will hate the night and want to leave but my group will not want to leave, forcing me to take a cab or some shit. Anyways, last night I went out with three other girls from my work. Because we’re all involved in the Service Dog program, we decided to take three of the Service Dogs out with us in order to acclimate them to large, loud crowds. People were walking up to us all night talking about their own dogs and snuggling with the Service Dogs. We even convinced Dani’s mom to come out and see us, so I got to see Dani again! She’s doing very well and she was excited and happy to see me (the feeling was mutual). Essentially, my Bookkeeper and myself got wasted while the two other ladies from work stayed sensible. We stood in a circle with our dogs sleeping in the center, talking about all sorts of stuff. It was very enlightening, and I was labeled an “awesome bitch”, a “vixen”, and “hero of the women’s bathroom”. That last one was my own label. The girl’s bathroom at the second bar had no toilet paper in either stall, and I took the last paper towel to dry my hands at the sink (I had no idea it was the last one, I swear!) I went to the bar and asked a bartender to get me more toilet paper for the girl’s room; he went into the supply closet and brought me two huge rolls. I walked into the women’s bathroom shouting, “Ladies! I have deliverance!!” People clapped for me. All around, it was an amazing night. I will definitely be doing a repeat of that again sometime, but I think I’ll take Matt with me when I do.
